TREATMENT
Set in a dystopian frontier divided by a vast valley and warring ideologies, The North upholds science, law, and order, while The South is consumed by mysticism and religious anarchy. To maintain control, the Northern regime has outlawed faith, enforcing its rule with an iron fist.
When Maeden Deerfield, a traveling storyteller, is caught preaching on the wrong side of the border, Eligius Grimstone, a by-the-book frontier lawman, and his Regulators arrive to suppress the gathering. But when the situation spirals into chaos and innocent civilians are gunned down, Grimstone makes a fateful decision—killing one of his own men to save Maeden’s life. His defiance is met with swift punishment, and he is sentenced to work on a brutal railroad chain gang, constructing a bridge across the valley and into the South.
Thefe Stelfox, a cunning outlaw, is betrayed by the fanatical preacher Uriah Ravanpor and left for dead. He is rescued by Lt. Manta Piraeus, an ambitious Northern officer who finds a mysterious book of spiritual folklore stolen from Uriah and now in Stelfox’s possession.
The North faces financial ruin. Invading the resource-rich South would spark an unwinnable war—but Commodore Stratus presents an alternative. Now in possession of Uriah’s book, he learns of a legendary mystical sword, capable of unlocking a gateway to the ultimate power: One which would bring the world under Northern rule.
When outlaw zealots attack the chain gang in attempt to free Uriah, Grimstone and Stelfox are caught in the chaos, and along with Maeden, Uriah and a small band of survivors, they are stranded in the heart of the valley - a dense jungle from which no one has ever returned.
Forced to navigate perilous terrain and with numerous losses along the way, they stumble upon the ruins of a long-lost empire, uncovering remnants of a forgotten faith and texts chronicling an ancient war between celestial beings. There they meet a secret brotherhood; guardians of a portal to the spirit realm - the divine gateway from Uriah's book. But their power is fading, and the barrier between worlds is beginning to fracture.
The Brotherhood task Grimstone and Stelfox with eliminating King Arkadius, a demonic warlord of a hidden empire on the brink of a supernatural war. Arkadius seeks to ascend beyond mortality and claim dominion over the spirit world itself. If he succeeds, mankind will be erased.
Grimstone and Stelfox infiltrate the hidden civilization, one far more advanced than their own, where technology is indistinguishable from magic. But they are not alone. Ruthless Commodore Stratus and Lt. Piraeus have lead a military force through the valley and into the spirit realm, determined to find the sword of the spirit and seize the ancient power for themselves.
As time runs out, Grimstone and Thefe must overcome their mutual distrust and face the ultimate choice—exploit the power of the spirit realm for their own survival, or risk everything to stop Arkadius before he unleashes a force that will consume the world.
